2011 Scarfs

Getting ready for tonight? I got out of bed really early and headed north to visit my hairdresser. I'm welcoming 2012 with a new (darker) hair color! I'm saying goodbye to 2011 with much gratitude. The goods have outweighed the not so good.

This blog is very young. Therefore the project recap is short and sweet.

Happy New Year Knitters and Non Knitters. I'll be back in 2012.

Really? December 27th

I really miss blogging frequently. But December has been a really busy month at work. Knitting and blogging have taken the back seat. Things are settling down now.

We had a very relax Christmas at home. Family, friends, good food and some laughs were more than enough to keep my heart happy.

I have not knitted much but have kept yarn very close. This year I’ve decided to use yarn for gift wrapping. It is a good alternative to the so popular bakers twine.

Oh...this print makes me smile BIG time! Holiday greens and reds and yarn really go together. Check it out at Rebekka Seale Art and Illustration.

My family live thousands miles apart. We don't have many opportunities to get everyone under the same roof. Christmas is one of the few. I am so looking forward to having my sister and parents at our home. I cannot wait to see my daughter surrounded by so much love from all of us. What are you looking forward to?

Christmas gifts countdown

I am working on the second and last Christmas gift! Loving the simplicity of this pattern. Are you done yet? Let the countdown begin.

Organization & cocktails

It’s been a week since I posted here. We had a great time off in Florida. The weather was perfect; food was awesome and seeing good friends was priceless! Plus, I got to visit a LYS. Knit 'n Knibble has everything you can think of – including cookies and pies.

No major damage to the savings account was done; just four skeins of Cascade 220. Photos coming soon. And now that we are in the topic, do you have tips for organizing your stash? Going through mine is becoming a little scary. I need to do something pronto!

Here is my wishful thinking / strategy:

  • Sort stash by fiber & color
  • Take photographs and create a Raverly catalog using “My Stash”
  • Organize yarn in a storage unit and notions in Mason jars
  • Have a cocktail and/or some brownies to celebrate my efforts
Storage units options:

Closet Maid 15 unit organizer ($30.99 at Target.com)

Sterilite Three Drawer Cart ($21.46 at Amazon.com)

Stash Baskets ($5.99 at ContainerStore.com)
Drinks & sweets options:

Pomegranate Cosmos - Ina Garten via Food TV

Chocolate Cheesecake Candy Cane bars - Food Network Kitchens

If you have suggestions to any of the options above, please drop a comment!
