FO: Age of Brass

It's been a couple of weeks since the last time I poured my love over at this little blog. February has been passing by fast & furious! All I remember doing was celebrating another birthday, surviving a nasty cold, working my brain out at my new job and....taking pictures of projects finished weeks ago! So, beware, what follows is new to you content...

There were 3,611 Age of Brass shawls either finished or in progress last time I checked Ravelry! I've contributed two projects to the statistic.

My first version is done out of Madelinetosh Merino DK. Yes, the yarn is all you have read about it and SO much more. I followed the pattern as written and ended up with a small shawl (shawlette?). This was going to be a birthday gift for my sister but I then decided that I wanted her to have a bigger shawl. What should one do when this happens? I bought more yarn, kept my chin up and knit a second version.

For shawl no. two, I used Cascade 220 Heathers. The color looks very close to shawl no. in the pictures but is grayish/ green in person. For this time around, I completed two additional pattern repeats for a full size shawl. At the end of the story both, knitter and recipient, loved the shawl.

FO: Garter Stitch Yoke Vest

It's Friday!!! I have a finished object to celebrate the occasion. This is the Garter Stitch Yoke Vest that I knit for my daughter. This is a very simple top down / raglan sweater. I used two skeins of Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Superwash Sport for a size two vest. A nice 100% wool yarn at an affordable price.

I cannot be happier with the finished vest. I think my daughter likes it as well.

Let's go now to check some other FO's from knitters around the world, shall we? Joining Tamis Amis FO's of course!
