Happening

Another busy, long week is gone. The weekend is promising to be overloaded as well. I am trying to squeeze time for my therapy--spinning this gorgeous Corriedale fiber from Unwind Yarn Company.

This will be a traditional three-ply worsted spun yarn. I am spinning it short draw. Hopefully I will be able to finish the third bobbin today.

The colors are as lovely as shown in the pictures. Dana, of Unwind Yarn Co., does a great job dying fiber. I have always have positive experiences with her products. She is taking a break from dyeing fiber. I bought this top a while ago.

What are you crafting today?

  1. Your spinning is absolutely lovely!
I'm hoping to finish up the roving I started last weekend. I bought some undyed Peruvian wool roving from Knit Picks and dyed it. I'm a new spinner, so I wanted to practice dyeing fiber while practicing my spinning. Besides, it's cheaper this way and I don't want to destroy good fiber. This is just my second batch, but I'm seeing a big improvement. Still lots of thick and thin, but this one looks like it will be usable. (happy dance)

    1. Thanks so much Mattie. Totally understand the "practice fiber" concept. Been there, done that. Don't wait too long to move to the fiber you really want to spin. It makes all the difference. I firmly believe all handspun is beautiful...unique and special. I would love to finish plying this fiber...but have been under the weather all week :-(

  3. Taking time for fiber-therepy is super important. It's a pleasure to see your spinning. It makes me want to dust off my wheel and get back to my fiber collection.

    1. Thanks Audry. You are so nice. Would you do a spin along with me? Any fiber you have in stash...any rules (or no rules)? Happy New Year!

    1. Thanks for leaving a comment, Abbie. I don't know what it would be of me without the almost daily fiber therapy. Happy New Year!
