How Many, How Much
By Shel Silverstein
How many slams in an old screen door?
Depends how loud you shut it.
How many slices in a bread?
Depends how thin you cut it.
How much good inside a day?
Depends how good you live 'em.
How much love inside a friend?
Depends how much you give 'em.
thanks so much for sharing, that was lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat is too awesome! Just the other day I was talking with my sister about Shel Silverstein, whom I hadn't thought of in forever. I actually just puchases Where the Sidewalk Ends, because I loved that book when I was young!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this poem!
Oh cool! The title gave me a flashback to a book of nighttime Care Bear's poems I had when I was a kid and I still remember one of them: "Keep a poem in your pocket, and a picture in your head. You'll never feel lonely at night when you're in bed."
ReplyDeleteThat photo is beautiful, and the poem is lovely too! Thank you for sharing, I think we all need more poetry in our lives.
