Poem In Your Pocket Day

Today is the national Poem In Your Pocket Day. The idea is to select a poem and share it with co-workers, family and friends. I did not want to miss this opportunity to celebrate with all of you!

How Many, How Much
By Shel Silverstein

How many slams in an old screen door?
Depends how loud you shut it.

How many slices in a bread?
Depends how thin you cut it.

How much good inside a day?
Depends how good you live 'em.

How much love inside a friend?
Depends how much you give 'em.

  2. That is too awesome! Just the other day I was talking with my sister about Shel Silverstein, whom I hadn't thought of in forever. I actually just puchases Where the Sidewalk Ends, because I loved that book when I was young!
Thank you for sharing this poem!

  3. Oh cool! The title gave me a flashback to a book of nighttime Care Bear's poems I had when I was a kid and I still remember one of them: "Keep a poem in your pocket, and a picture in your head. You'll never feel lonely at night when you're in bed."
