Eventually things move forward and one finishes some socks, wash and lay them to dry in the most awkward fashion! See the wrinkles?
I also finished plying the last four ounces of a deep stash Merino fiber. The three ply yarn is super soft and spongy. I suffered a "laziness attack" that prevented me to count the yardage. My not at all expert assessment says that I have enough for a shawl.
These socks are so nice! They really do have that little something that wrinkles can't take away!
ReplyDeleteThanks Maryse. I had fun knitting the socks...you can't go wrong with those colors!

ReplyDeleteWaouh! Love your picture and your handspun yarn
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and for your comment! I love combining my hobbies of spinning, knitting and photography. There is never a dull moment around here :-)
DeleteVery pretty Monica! I love the way that yarn stripes so nicely. I want to try the after thought heel...it really looks good with the grey heel.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine! I was concerned about pooling on the heel...then I remembered that I had the exact same yarn in a solid color. Voila! For me, the afterthought heel is like knitting another toe. The only caution is to know where to end the sock. But the (free) pattern I used gave directions on that. Have a great week.
DeleteI hope everything is ok x
ReplyDeleteThe socks are fabulous, and that handspun, oh my! Every time I see handspun, it makes me want to pick up a new hobby. The colors in this are beautiful xxx
Thanks for your comment Sam! Really appreciate it. I vote for you to join me on the spinning journey :-)
DeleteI hope the cloud leaves you very soon. Sending you love!
ReplyDeleteThose socks are beyond beautiful.
Thanks for your concern and for the love, my dear friend. That you think my socks are nice is a great compliment...you know who enabled me to knit socks... :-)
DeleteThose socks look incredible :) I love those colors together. I also really love that handspun-it would definitely make a lovely shawl.
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet. Thank you! I need to spend a few more hours in Rav looking for a pattern (there is always an excuse to spend even more time online). Have a great week.
DeleteThose socks are great! Have you cast on your next pair yet? Knitting socks is my weakness... :)
ReplyDeleteLove these socks, especially the perfectly contrasting toe and heel. Oh and love that last bit of yarn you've teased us with at the end of the post.
