Still with me?

First of all, thanks for your kind comments on my last post. You can’t imagine how much your words mean to me!

While I was away...

Several weeks have passed since I’ve shown some blog love. Of course, I have excuses for my absence – good and not so good. First with the good: my husband and I went on vacation to Montreal and New York City. We had the most amazing time strolling around, shopping and eating well. The not so good: I’ve been shamefully lazy taking pictures of my knitting! So, although I have stories to tell, I have nothing to show. What? I warned you…not the best excuse!

In New York I (we) got to visit the Lion Brand Studio, Purl Soho and Knitty City. I did not leave any of the stores empty handed. Who can do that? I plan to write about my findings in a later post.

Progress report...

I packed a ball of Berroco Peruvian wool and a shawl pattern for the trip. Knitting was easy peasy until it was time to work the edging. This turned to be a horror story with a frogged ending. Looking back at the pattern's comments in raverly, seems that some people had major issues with a particular row. I’m not alone in that troubled boat. Knitting stopped being fun and common sense dictated that the project be hidden away in the back room of the house.

One out of the way, one cast on. I’m starting fresh with “Anna's Shoulder Wrap” using organic cotton from Blue Sky Alpacas. This yarn is not your usual cotton suspect. Is very soft and easy on the hands. So far, the project promises to bring my pride back. Plus, I get to play with a crochet hook on the edging of the armholes.

What's next...

I pledge to remain positive with this new project. I will also catch up with all the lovely blogs that I follow. Better late than never.
