I made good progress on my Soay cardigan. This little project is teaching me so much! From practicing short rows to neck shaping-- I literally feel that I owe Gudrun Johnston more than the pattern. Well, I really owe Bethany a hug as she gifted me the pattern.
I am flying solo as a parent for a couple of days. The husband will be out of town on a business trip (what I call a vacation). So, I will keep the cardigan in the blocking board for now. I've pampered it with a steam blocking just as I am next to three bind off the shoulders.
This will be my couch / super mama project for the next days. If Martina Behm loves variegated yarn in garter stitch, I do as well. I bought this yarn from Eat.Knit.Sleep on a Black Friday. Count me as another victim of the "it's on sale, let me buy it" syndrome.
The details:
Yarn: Lornas Laces Shepherd Sock Multi in Spats
Needles: Chiagoo US 4 (3.55mm)
Pattern: 22.5 Degrees by Martina Behm

Your Soay is looking so classy! I wish I had blocked mine before seaming the shoulders like you did. I'm unsure about my Soay at this point. I'm afraid it's looking a little "homemade." Hopefully blocking in the end will fix that.
ReplyDeleteI bet your Soay is gorgeous! Hope you are feeling better!
DeleteSo pretty, I saw your Soay on Rav and love the classic colours and beautiful stitch definition. This will be a stunner
ReplyDeleteThanks Christina! Is a fun project for sure :-)
DeleteI am always unsure about variegated yarns with some shawl patterns. But I love your project.
ReplyDeleteMe too; I love how variegated yarns look on the skein but it is so difficult to find a pattern that goes well with them. I love my shawl so far. Thanks for stopping by :-)
DeleteYour Soay looks beautiful so far!
ReplyDeleteHi Super Mama! I sure know those days :)
ReplyDeleteThe Soay is going to be fabulous... I am in love with it already x
The shawl looks super cosy too. (PS I suffer from the same syndrome)
Your soay is looking awesome! I am also in love with the variegation on your shawl. I am knitting my first ever Martina Behm pattern and I love her love for simplicity!!!
