During a brain power outage, I manage to cast on eight hundred stitches instead of the required two hundred and something. Yes eight hundred as in 800. My husband knew there was something wrong but I refused to wait until I could double check the pattern. You know, because I know it "all" and left the pattern at home while running errands. Not that I recommend that you try this but, let me tell you, it wasn't difficult to get rid of the extra stitches.
The details--
Yarn: Brown Sheep Nature Spun Sport Weight in Stone
Needles: US 4 (3.55mm)
Pattern: Soay by Gudrun Johnston

Love that term "Brain power outage." The other day I knit part of a heel flap over too few stitches and was wondering why it looked so small;)
ReplyDeleteIt happens to the nicest people ;-) Thanks for visiting. Have a great week!
DeleteI had to re-read that you cast on 800 stitches. A part of me is emotional knowing you had to rip all of those stitches out. I am loving how cozy the cardigan is beginning to look! And the mug is perfect :D.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. I'm very happy with this cardigan.
DeleteHahaha. Brain power outage. So good you could fix it easily. Kathleen Rogers story is great too. :-) It happens to anyone, does it?
ReplyDeleteIt happens...too often! Have a great week!

DeleteBeen there, trying to "remember" a pattern and failing at it.
ReplyDeleteIs a bad habit. Hopefully I learned my lesson this time. Have a great week!
DeleteBeautiful progress! Although 800 stitches, that would have freaked me out a bit.
ReplyDeleteThanks my friend. 800 stitches!! I cannot be trusted with my knitting I guess ;-)
