Spinning and stashing

Another week and my master closet is not done. We are still waiting for the hardwood floor. Jumping of joy for more days of having to tour the house to complete an outfit. Shoes in one corner. Tops in the spare room and bottoms in the crafty room. Confession time: I've been wearing the same shoes out of laziness.

Also in progress is some spindle spinning. Of course, I discovered another bag of blue fiber after I was done with three skeins (blogged here). My goal is to be done tomorrow. We are going on vacation and I want an empty spindle to start a new project.

Spinning here and stashing there. Multi tasking in other words. Who could resist these two skeins of Sunshine Yarns Classic Sock? Left: Inner Child  and right: Sunstone

Still valid is my goal of being mindful about stash enhancements. I am not one to get stressed about any upcoming show update. I don't have to knit with the hottest yarn in the market. But, if a skein strikes my fancy, I will let it come home without guilt.

SSE (Summer Stash Enhancements)

It's been awhile since I confess my stash enhancements over here. Here are a few souvenirs from my latest trip to Nashville.

From the fantastic Craft South: Quince & Co. Puffin in Shell (left) and Gingerbread (right). The yarn is 100% American wool and comes in skeins of 113 yards. I would love to combine these two skeins in one project.

From my first visit to Haus of Yarn, this Danica Studio zipper pouch. It was super affordable and better yet, my purchase supported "Education without Borders".

Also from Haus of Yarn, this gorgeous Malabrigo Nube fiber in color Sabiduria (Spanish word for wisdom).

Finally, this Shawl pin.

I'm super happy with my purchases and with supporting brick and mortar yarn shops.

When in doubt...

I have not been very efficient casting off projects as I have been enhancing my stash and knitting library. Why do I need more books and yarn while I am not knitting fast enough? It is a mystery. One that I have no interest in solving.

Without further ado, here are a few of my recent purchases. These six skeins are destined to become a shawl when they grow up. Perhaps a Tailwind or Color Affection. The 64% Cotton and 43% Linen yarn, Berroco Linsey, is discontinued and therefore was deeply discounted at my LYS.

I also got  some gorgeous Baby Yak Wool in burgundy and brown. Per their tags, the "yarns are 100% traceable, purchased directly from cooperatives...".

I couldn't pass on this cute Ravelry bag while also getting educated on how to spell Romeldale!

Finally, the latest book from Carrie Hostick Boge. That means that I have all the books she had self published as of now. Love her work to the moon and back.
